At a MetTECH UK Training Centre or other suitable premises.
Suitable For
Those requiring basic presentation skills to ensure that they can effectively deliver to others the underpinning knowledge required by current legislation.
Course Aims
The aims of the course are to provide delegates with:
- An understanding of the legislation affecting abrasive wheels as stated in
(a) The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER)
(b) The Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005.
- Instructional techniques.
Course Content
- Approved advisory literature relating to the mounting of abrasive wheels.
- Hazards arising from the use of abrasive wheels.
- Methods of storing and inspecting abrasive wheels.
- Selection of the correct wheel as to type, speed, material to be cut, etc.
- The requirements of the current legislation.
- Correct procedure for mounting, truing and dressing abrasive wheels on fixed equipment.
- Correct procedure for mounting depressed centre grinding and cutting discs on portable equipment.
- Preparing and giving a practical demonstration.
- Observation of candidates.
- Correction of errors and feedback.
