Welding Skills Introduction

Duration

Up to five days.

Location

At a MetTECH UK Training Centre or other suitable premises.

Suitable For

Novices, Operators and Maintenance Personnel who require welding techniques in either of the following processes:

  • MIG
  • TIG
  • MMA
  • Oxy-Acetylene Welding
  • Brazing

Course Aim

The aim of the course is to provide delegates with sufficient knowledge and practice to be able to set-up and operate welding equipment to achieve simple joints.

Course Content

  • Set up equipment for use.
  • Selection of welding variable and consumables.
  • Preparation of materials for welding.
  • Striking and breaking the arc.
  • Methods of depositing weld runs.
  • Identification and rectification of defects.

Certification

MetTECH UK Certificate of Attendance or a nationally recognised Certificate of Verified Achievement (CVA) approved by EMTA Awards Limited (EAL).
